Google has been rolling out lots of changes these days and thus is in news for some or the other reasons. All of us use lot lots of apps of Google like Picasa, Contacts etc but there was no way of backing up the information that they have stored in these accounts.

With this new service called Google Takeout they can download our information stored in these apps of Google basically. Currently Google Takeout can be used to export information from five different google products namely Google Buzz, Contacts and Circles, Picasa Web Albums, Google Profile and the Stream but with the launch of Google+ they are sure to see lots of other services also linking to the profile.

 

Among all the services that are currently available, can make the most of by saving the information from the Google Contacts and Picasa. With Google Takeout they can download the contacts in the .vcf format which can be used with lots of contacts management programs like Outlook. They can also save the information from the Picasa albums; however, there is a limitation of 100 images per album.

Google Takeout may even be used to save the information from all the services listed directly but it would not be feasible to guess how much time or space would be necessary for it. A lovely point to note here is that, when you click the Generate Archive button to generate the information to be saved, it can be saved until your session is valid and in case you log out of Google Takeout, you will require to regenerate the information to save it again.

googleplus : the 10 missing features

There is much to like about Google + and has the potential to cause a major impact on the future of the Internet. After only two weeks in closed beta, which has 10 million users. However, it is far from perfect. I set my list of 10 things Google has to correct or add to Google +. Check out the list and jump into the debate and argue with me by adding patches that you think deserves more attention in Google +.

1. We are looking for someone dumb flow
